Zero Moment
The starting point for any action in this field is creating a database with the email addresses of people who want to receive new information from you. I have written about this before, so I will not insist now. What is important is that the email addresses are used properly, and the email reaches where it should.
Email makes visitors come back
The role of a newsletter is mainly to make people return to our website or blog to find out what new things have appeared. Generally, those who subscribe to the newsletter do so because they want to not forget about our site and to come back to it. Thus, the email acts as a reminder, to which people respond by returning to the original site.
Here we need to consider a few aspects. First of all, the newsletter should not contain the entire article or all the information transmitted. It should only inform and spark curiosity and interest so that the recipient clicks and enters the site.
Email contributes to creating an image or brand
Sending one email per week brings both the much-desired traffic and an important contribution to creating a "name." People will gradually get used to us, those who send the weekly email, they will remember our site, as well as the name with which we sign. If information we send proves to be useful after some time, instead of searching through hundreds of emails in the inbox, they will choose to type our name in Google, along with a few relevant data.
Another possibility is also related to the title of the article or the respective product. For example, if a person remembers that we wrote some time ago about "Top most accessed sites by Romanians," they will type exactly this title into the search engine. Why? Because at that time it seemed very well written and, especially, because the title is very easy to remember and relevant. And thus organic traffic is created on the site, bringing many SEO benefits.
Engagement
As expected, those who subscribed to my newsletter are directly interested in what I have to transmit and offer. They will actively engage on the site and, depending on its specifics, will undertake a series of actions: either they will buy, ask questions, comment, and surely share the information found there through various means. And this is a very good thing. The more activity and engagement on the site from visitors, the higher the site's position. The more time people spend on the site, navigate, and engage, the more the site's value increases in search engine rankings.
A very good but very hard-to-follow piece of advice is that the person sending the email should respond to any replies received, whether by email, site, blog, or social networks. People will feel important and will appreciate your performance even more.
Email can also increase the number of backlinks
The person who receives your email may also have a site or blog where they write or publish various things. If what you sent is very well written and interests them, it is possible they will mention it on their blog, which can only make you happy and help you.
Email leads to increased popularity on social networks
As mentioned, those who enter the site through the received email will share the information there on social networks. Thus, your content will be known by more and more people, who may also subscribe to the newsletter or, at least, share it with others in turn. This chain created is extremely useful for SEO, traffic, and, implicitly, for your business.
Conclusions
The simple and clear conclusion is that, regardless of the method you use to attract traffic to your site, the result will gradually be seen in the increase of organic traffic. Email is one of the easiest to use and least costly methods, with very good results in this regard.
