The company blog, as mentioned, is the place where any company can share new information about the organization's life, about products and services to be launched, or about any other elements that might be of interest to customers or potential customers.
1. Should the blog have its own domain? – No, the blog should be on the company's website domain, like www.companydomain.ro/blog.
2. How many posts should I have on the blog before it can be made public? – The blog can be launched with the first post. There is no minimum limit.
3. How often should I publish on the blog? – For a company blog, it is very good to publish one article per week. However, it can be published (and it is even better) twice a week, making it more interesting, richer, and with better results. It can be updated less frequently, but it is not as effective.
4. Who should take care of this blog? – The marketing department is responsible for the blog. All employees can publish articles, but everything must go through the filter of a single person, a specialist.
5. If we don’t have specialists or time to write, what do we do? – This is a common problem. Either a specialist can be hired to take care of this field (a rather costly option) or a specialized promotion service provider can be contracted to handle both the creation of texts and their optimization for search engines. The costs are not high, but the benefits are notable.
6. How long should a blog post be? – The length varies slightly from blog to blog, depending on the company's specifics. If it addresses end customers, articles between 350 and 1000 words can be published. If, on the other hand, it is a B2B company, articles should have at least 1000 words.
7. Can we link our article to other websites? – Of course! This way, customers will know that you have certain documented information from multiple sources, and it will also be a signal for Google regarding your field of activity.
8. Can I talk about my own services or products on the blog? – It is the company blog, so you can refer to your offer. However, it is not good to become annoying or insist on the same aspects. Only occasionally, when it really adds value or is directly related to your products, should you mention them. Otherwise, don’t. People don’t always come to read the specifications of your products. They want varied, rich, and accurate information, not advertising.
The company blog has many advantages. I will not repeat them here, as I have already talked about this. The important thing is to do it, to do it well, and to maintain it. You should not give up along the way. As with many other online projects, results are seen over time.
