On Friday, May 23, 2014, Microsoft launched its new tablet, Surface Pro 3, whose features bring it closer to a classic laptop. The Surface Pro 3 features a 12-inch ClearType full HD display and a 4th generation Intel® Core™ processor. Moreover, it can reach up to 8 GB of RAM. The battery provides up to 9 hours of web activity. Nevertheless, the tablet is 30% thinner than the 11-inch MacBook Air.
The tablet's accessories are also a novelty. The tablet features an adjustable stand that allows it to be fixed in different positions: for watching a movie, for working, or for actual writing. The keyboard is easy to attach, being very comfortable and easy to use. The Surface Pen – the pencil that accompanies the tablet – allows writing on the screen surface just like writing on a sheet of paper. It can also be used for photo editing or creating various documents.
The tablet comes installed with the new Windows 8.1 Pro, which allows the installation of a wide range of programs, including Microsoft Office. Its use is also facilitated by the presence of other elements, such as a USB 3.0 port, micro SD card reader, and Mini DisplayPort.
Accessory prices can also be found on the official Microsoft website, but here are a few details: the keyboard (available in 5 colors) is $129.99 USD, and the pen is priced at $49.99 USD.
