How to do Quality Guest Blogging? (II)

Guest blogging, as we showed in the previous article, is a process that requires a lot of involvement and allocation of time and creativity resources.

We said that we need to start from what we need, from our objectives, but also from the niche audience of our blog. Posting articles on blogs that have traffic but are not in our area of interest will not help us.

After identifying some potential candidate blogs, the next step is to verify them. This involves researching the domain authority, traffic, and community engagement created around them.

For domain authority, sites like Alexa or MOZ can be used, which present an approximation of these parameters and can constitute a good starting point for other verifications. If it is a blog on a free platform like blogspot.com, then the page authority should be considered and not the domain authority, because the domain is general and will have a very high authority score.

Traffic can also be checked with the help of these online tools, but another indicator can be, for example, the number of comments on each article or the number of people who follow that site.

Community engagement also involves the social media activity of the analyzed blog. A quick check on the Facebook page, Twitter, and G+ can give a very quick and very accurate general impression of the interest shown by people in the topics addressed.

After the blog where the article will appear has been chosen, the actual writing of it follows, starting from the idea fully suitable for the future host. As happens with any article, but especially now, the choice of the title must be in line with the audience's expectations, interests, and what they are actually looking for on the internet.

If when writing for our own site/blog the titles are somewhat in the same tone, now we must adapt a little to those on the host blog. If this is well chosen, then the differences will be very small. If the differences are large, then a question arises regarding the fit between your content and that of the respective blog. The way titles are conceived also affects the number of people who will click and enter to read the article in question.

Beyond these titles, the article itself must be of very good quality, bring novelty, major interest information, and be as well documented as possible. The host blog will not accept a lower quality article because that is not its interest. Moreover, since this article practically promotes your own blog, questionable quality will not attract the desired attention nor the expected traffic.

The topic addressed also requires a special structure, in the form of a text with enumerations, examples, and, of course, images. Do not forget the purpose and proposed objective, and do everything possible to convey your message properly, to the right people.

Guest blogging helps you, the blog, the site, and your business. That is why it should not be treated as a simple advertorial, but more as a promotion of your brand as a specialist, your blog as a reference one, and your business as a successful and trustworthy one.
