This year we are also making a list of the best inventions in technology, inventions that have the potential to leave a lasting mark on the evolution of our society on all levels. If last year we talked about the 3D printer and Hoverboard, today we have news from all fields, from medicine to ecology.

1. The sensor that detects gluten. There are many people who are allergic to gluten and there are many diseases that start from intolerance to it. The life of these people is very difficult, especially because of the accidental contamination of dishes in restaurants with gluten, which does not allow affected people to venture into venues and lead a normal social life. That is why the Nima device allows testing of foods and identifies in less than 2 minutes if they have been contaminated or contain traces of gluten. To make the experience as pleasant as possible, the device signals the presence of the allergen by displaying a sad face, and if the product is safe, a smiling face is shown.

2. The smart frying pan. Cooking has recently become one of the most appreciated or discussed hobbies, and amateur or professional chefs have become real stars, so more and more people want to cook or learn to prepare some recipes for occasions. Because not everyone knows how to cook and especially because no one is born knowing how, the smart frying pan or Pantelligent was launched. It is connected to a smartphone to which it transmits, using sensors, the temperature and stages of food preparation. The user only needs to select the desired recipe and then follow the instructions displayed by the app on the phone. It will tell when to flip the piece of meat or when to stir the ingredients.

3. Safety Truck. Developed by Samsung and Leo Burnett, this safety system is dedicated to drivers worldwide to offer them safer roads. Every year, tens of thousands of people die in car accidents, many caused by lack of visibility in traffic, especially on narrow roads. In Argentina, this problem has worsened in recent years, creating the need to identify a simple and practical solution to reduce their incidence. The Leo Burnett agency invented a system that involves mounting cameras on the front of vehicles, especially trucks, and projecting these images on the back, so that drivers behind the truck can see what is happening and avoid risky overtaking. This project was successfully tested and the results were very good. Now the entire system is refined and large-scale implementation is being prepared.

4. Tesla Model X. Tesla's Model X was unveiled to the public in September 2015 and demonstrates that electric cars are no longer just eco-friendly but can be just as practical as others. This 7-seat electric car has a range of 250 miles (approximately 400 km), thus eliminating its main problem. In terms of performance, the car can reach 60 miles per hour – that is 96.5 km – in 3.2 seconds, which is not bad at all.

5. Bionic ears. It sounds complicated, but their purpose is to make our life easier in the crowded and hectic environments we live in. These headphones are connected to a smartphone app, through which they are adjusted by the user as needed. Unlike existing versions, which improve the hearing of the user, these headphones offer the possibility of refining hearing. In other words, we can choose the frequencies we want amplified and reduce those that bother us. For example, on the street, we can amplify the voice of the person accompanying us while reducing the background noise that annoys us and makes us shout at each other to be heard.

6. Juno or the DNA device. Currently, to obtain the necessary data from DNA, amplification is required, a process that takes at least a day. Juno is a revolutionary device that speeds up this stage and reduces it to just 3 hours, which eases the work of both laboratory personnel and those who depend on those results.

Besides these inventions, there are many others, such as sports shoes whose laces can be tied with one hand, a book that filters water, a toy you can talk to, and many more. Each of these 2015 inventions brings us closer to the future, to what a few years ago we did not even imagine possible.
